Day 1 is underway!

Two big fish to the scale before 9:30am! Pictures will be up momentarily.

Mayfly Hatch and a Nice Fish

The mayfly hatch is on.  The good news is the fish are still biting!

The water temp ranges from 67 degrees in the current to 74 degrees in Big Sand.

Caught this nice one yesterday afternoon, sorry for the washed out pic.. only noticed my camera settings were wrong after I did fish CPR.

One Week To Go!

Only one week to go until the 2013 Minaki Walleye Classic! The weather is going to be stable and hot all this week.

There are lots of reports of big fish up to 32" being caught. The fish are on the move already transitioning to summer spots. Leeches and crawlers are the hot bait.

Check back tomorrow for a fishing report and hopefully some nice pictures.

2 Weeks To Go!

Hey Everyone!

Only 2 more weeks to go until the 2013 Minaki Walleye Classic!  This year, 80 teams will compete for $40,000 in cash and prizes!

The water level in Minaki is really high right now and the fishing has picked up.  There have been lots of reports of 28 and 29 inchers caught with the occasional over 30 inches.  This recent warm weather has brought up the water temp to over 60 degrees all over the system.  Reports have fish being caught on sand points and mud flats from 6 to 12 feet of water.  I'll be out today and will post a detailed report on the fishing tonight including water temp and the water level height over normal.

See you on the water,
